This temple is a unique symbol of Lucknow’s Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (communal harmony).
- The History: Despite being a Hindu temple, it was built in the 18th century by Begum Janab-e-Alia, the wife of the third Nawab of Lucknow, after her prayers for a son were answered.
- Major Event: It is the epicenter of the Bada Mangal festival, a month-long celebration unique to Lucknow where food (Prasad) is distributed to everyone regardless of religion.
