Chhota Imambara (Hussainabad Imambara)
Often called the “Palace of Lights” due to its spectacular illumination and collection of European chandeliers, this monument was built by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah in 1838. The structure features a striking gilded dome, intricate Islamic calligraphy on its exterior, and serves as the mausoleum for the Nawab and his mother. The complex is noted for its Indo-Islamic and Persian design elements, including miniature models of the Taj Mahal flanking the main building. A grand “Hammam” (bathhouse) and refined marble work add to its regal splendor. It is widely considered one of the most beautiful examples of Nawabi architecture in India.
